Easter Recap

What?? It hasn't been a week yet.

We woke up bright and early. Noah was up at 6am, and Tim woke up at 630am.

First they did a treasure hunt to find their baskets. The Easter bunny hid clues in the plastic eggs, each clue led to another until the final clue led them to their baskets.

The Easter bunny put their baskets in the oven. Silly bunny.
Once they found their baskets, it was time to search for chocolate eggs.
The Easter bunny also left jelly beans all over the house, but Tim decided that he only wanted chocolate eggs. So Noah got all the jelly beans.

This is the only shot I got of Noah looking for eggs. He was so busy, it was very hard to get a picture of him.

Hope everyone had a great Easter.

Writer's Workshop

Spring in my neighbourhood.

Spring is runners, who've probably been stuck on a treadmill since October, finally able to run outside.

Spring is tulips poking out, and brown grass turning green.

Birds enjoying the sunshine, and the worms.
Puddles

and mud. My son calls them muddles.
Spring is blue skies, not a cloud in site.

and rain clouds rolling in.

Happy Easter

We started the day yesterday with a wonderful walk to Tim's school. It's been so beautiful out, and gas is so expensive, that we've started walking Tim to and from school.

We also walked to the grocery store and picked up a few goodies while Tim was in school. One of the goodies was a yummy pack of Easter cookies.

After picking Tim up from school we got started on our Easter eggs. I hard boiled the eggs, and let them cool. Then set up 6 different dyes for the boys to dip the eggs in.

I love hard boiled eggs. Egg salad sandwiches are one of my favorite after Easter treats. A close second to the chocolate bunny, but probably healthier.

Easter Lily

You know what I love? Just because Easter lilies. You know what else I love? My husband. Not only does he get me just because Easter lilies, he helps me be me. Oh yeah, and he's one sexy man.

Can't wait until they bloom

This Week

We haven't been up to much the last week. Mostly just playing inside, the weather has been frightful, drinking hot chocolate, and watching movies. Tim went to school on Tuesday, and Thursday. Then his second swimming lesson on Wednesday. I also started 1 of 2 photography classes, mostly just learning the basics of using a digital camera.

Here's a few pictures from a quiet afternoon.

Noah telling me not to take anymore pictures of him.

Last Saturday we went to a Thomas play date at Toys R Us. The boys love it, they get to listen to a Thomas and friends story, and then do a craft.

We also took advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free deal on trains.

Here's a picture of Tim showing off his new trains. The bigger one is a mega block train that they got at the event.

Today we went to see Hop. Tim is now officially ready for Easter to begin. 8 more sleeps.

Fat Ass Friday

Starting Weight: 190.4lbs
Current Weight: 147lbs

I weigh in tomorrow at Weight Watchers, so I'm hoping to stay under 147lbs. My goal weight is 145, and if I'm more then 2lbs over that then I have to pay the weekly fee.

This week we tried a new recipe.

It was delicious. I am really loving this blog/website. It's chock full of delicious looking, low points recipes.

Good luck everyone!

Growing by leaps and bounds

Katherine at Another Day, Another Moment wrote a great post about the little moments. The moments that helps us push past the screaming fits, that toddlers are so great at.

She inspired me to write a little conversation that Noah and I had the other day, while lying in his bed, in the wee hours of the morning.

Noah held his hand up. He pointed at his thumb, and said thumb. Then he pointed at his index finger, and called it finger. Then he pointed at his middle finger, and called it finger...and so on, and so on. I don't remember moments like this with Tim, probably because I was working and Blaine was staying at home.

My little two year old is growing by leaps and bounds.

Yesterday we went to McDonald's and he wouldn't let me help take off his coat, or his boots. He told me he could do it all by himself, and surprise he did do it all by himself. And he loves to run around with the bigger kids, he's not afraid to get an owie.

He's 100% potty trained, he still sleeps in a diaper. He hasn't mastered that yet, he's a pretty heavy sleeper. He'll tell me when he's ready for that, but I'm pretty sure it will be awhile.

Playdoh

Cheeky

Lately Tim has been hamming it up for the camera. Every time I put a camera on him, he pulls a funny face. Acting super silly. Here's some shots of him acting up in the car.

Fat Ass Friday

My 2 point smoothie

I made up this recipe one day. I was craving a fruit smoothie, so I threw a couple ingredients together. And it worked

1 cup frozen fruit
1/2 cup fat free yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1 cup water

blend

Swim Lessons Spring 2011

Tim started swimming lessons this morning. He got the same instructor he had for his first ever swim class, he was pretty excited to have her again. They are getting a little more serious about swimming this time, instead of only playing in the water. Tim is a little timid about the actual swimming parts, but I'm happy to say he is putting his face in the water without hesitation.

Half Way There

I said I would be offline for the week. Sadly, I failed on day 1, just couldn't stay away from Facebook.
Here I am to offer you a little update on the cleaning. So very exciting, I know.

Day 1:

cleaned the bathroom, top to bottom. Scrubbed, bleached. I emptied out the medicine cabinet, and the cupboards underneath the sink. Amazing how dirty things can get in a year. The boys were so well behaved while I cleaned, they played nice, not even one little fight.

Day 2:

cleaned Tim's bedroom. Moving his furniture was a bitch to say the least. Blaine was supposed to be here to help me, but took some overtime at work. My arms are a little sore today. I washed his bedding, flipped his mattress and organized his stuffed animals. Washed his bookcase, walls, and bed(he has a mates bed). Once again the boys were fabulous. I am impressed, whoever switched my children, I thank you. I also cleaned the hall, and the pantry.

Today I will be working on Noah's room, and hopefully(If Blaine wakes up sometime today) the master bedroom. Tim starts swimming lessons today, so pictures will be posted tomorrow.

Spring Cleaning

Do you spring clean??? I make a huge list, a HUGE list, shut myself away, and clean for a week. I hate spring cleaning, it's damn hard work. But, I suppose, it's got to get done. I also need to work on my grammar, because that was awful.

Monday will be the start of my spring cleaning week, no Facebook, no blogging, just cleaning. So if you feel like I've dropped off the planet, remember I'm only cleaning.

See you on the other side
